Heritage on a Plate: Celebrating African Food Heritage Through Culinary Innovation

Food is more than nourishment it is culture, memory, identity, and innovation. Across Africa, centuries of culinary knowledge continue to shape how communities grow, prepare, and share food. Yet many of these traditions remain underrepresented in contemporary culinary experiences.

Heritage on a Plate is an invitation-only culinary tasting experience that brings together food innovators, chefs, cultural leaders, media, and ecosystem partners to celebrate African food heritage through a modern lens.

Organised through the Food Culture Alliance Kenya Chapter in collaboration with Food Innovation Studio and Jiko Restaurant, the event explores how indigenous ingredients and traditional food practices can inspire the future of African cuisine and food systems.

A Curated Culinary Journey

Guests will experience a thoughtfully curated menu that showcases the richness and diversity of African culinary traditions while embracing contemporary culinary techniques.
