Nicodemus At Food Culture Alliance Members Meeting.

Nicodemus representing the Food Innovation Studio joined other alliance members to discuss the food and agriculture situation in the country.

The Food Culture Alliance (FCA) is a global initiative co-led by the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), EAT Forum, and the Global Business School Network (GBSN)

It focuses on shifting societal preferences toward sustainable and nutritious diets by targeting underlying consumer values, beliefs, and identities, rather than just dictating nutritional facts.

The alliance operates primarily through in-country coalitions in Kenya, India, and Indonesia.

Since 2024, FCA has conducted deep cultural research across Kenya through focus groups, expert interviews, and cultural decoding to understand the beliefs, values, and norms driving food preferences, moving beyond traditional foods, nutrition education or agricultural interventions to work through culture itself.

FCA Kenya is a catalyst and coordinates organizations to act simultaneously, creating multi-institution activation across levers that shifts culture. Members deliver interventions through their existing platforms (media, museums, schools, businesses); FCA ensures these interventions align and amplify each other.
